Gizzardsniffer Posted May 28, 2013 Report Posted May 28, 2013 Well I finally found a front bumper that I think will work on my 50! I had all but given up trying to find a bumper yjay was the correct size when I ran across a set of bumpers at a swap meet at a local car show. The guy said he thought they were off a 1937 plymouth,Front and rear with the brackets, kinda crusty but hey,he only wanted $15.00 for the pair so I hauled them home. With a little bit of frabrication to the brackets I bolted the front on.Still need to fabricate a gravel shield but for the price I think it just might be ok.I know the picture doesn't show it very well, but maybe you can get the idea. Gizzardsniffer Posted May 29, 2013 Author Report Posted May 29, 2013 I will be glad too, wanted to get the gravel shield done first, but I will try to take some tomorrow. Thanks for looking. Quote
BulldogTom Posted May 29, 2013 Report Posted May 29, 2013 I think it looks great. What is the eventual color scheme going to be? Tom Hollister, CA Quote
Gizzardsniffer Posted May 29, 2013 Author Report Posted May 29, 2013 Here's few more pics of the bumper at different angles,I'm not much of a camera operator but maybe you can see how it fits to the body.I think it will be ok once I fab the gravel shield.Tom I'm hoping to paint it Camaro Synergy Green, but things change. Gizzardsniffer Posted May 29, 2013 Author Report Posted May 29, 2013 Let me try this again,I screwed something up loading the pics, but that's easy for me! Quote
BulldogTom Posted May 30, 2013 Report Posted May 30, 2013 Are you going to paint the grill bars and the bumper the same color? Tom Quote
Gizzardsniffer Posted May 30, 2013 Author Report Posted May 30, 2013 Probably so,at least the grill bars,I have molded them into the grill and filled most of the body seams as well! Quote
1952B3b23 Posted May 30, 2013 Report Posted May 30, 2013 I like it a lot looks really good. Im a fan of how it sits tighter to the front sheet metal of the truck and it fits the contour nice. Well done -Chris Quote
rt338b12 Posted May 30, 2013 Report Posted May 30, 2013 I used a 1941 chevy front bumper flipped upside down Quote
Gizzardsniffer Posted May 30, 2013 Author Report Posted May 30, 2013 Thanks for the coments,Rt your trucks looking good,it looks like it sits as low as mine. Quote
BulldogTom Posted May 30, 2013 Report Posted May 30, 2013 Probably so,at least the grill bars,I have molded them into the grill and filled most of the body seams as well! With that Green color, black grill bars, bumpers and running boards might look real sharp. I tend more to silver/chrome. But my truck is red (at least until I sell it, then I don't know what will happen to it). Tom Hollister, CA Quote
