Gents,      I am trying to get the dash lights working again and i am going thru putting new connections terminals on everything i come across that looks like it needs help. I noticed their are 2 switches in the dash area. 1 chrome and one under neath the dash toward the steering wheel column. There are 2 white solid core copper wires coming out of the chrome light switch going thru the fire wall but not connected to anything. Can you tell me where those 2 wires go? I have a wiring diagram that i downloaded off of the site. But i am lost! Both are hooked up to the chrome toggle switch. Sorry about the pictures being hard to view at this angle. Thanks in advance

The toggle switch you pictured is an add on most likely installed by a prior owner to power up some accessory. The toggle switch pictured below is what controlls the dash lights. Could be a 2 or 3 position switch (dim, dimmer, and off)

It is not a good practice to use solid copper wire in a car. Should be stranded wire. Suggest you remove those wires as they are not currently in use.

I see where this same question was asked and answered on a different thread. It would be nice if these issues could be posted on the same thread. Makes it much easier to track.

I have asked a moderator to combine the threads
