BobT-47P15 Posted March 14, 2013 Report Posted March 14, 2013 Has anyone recently purchased a new top for their 40s--50s convertible? If so, which seller did you get it from? Was the quallity good? I need to order a new one for mine and am starting to look for a vendor. The top that's on the car now.......I had it sitting around in the box for about 15 years before getting it installed a few years ago. I can't recall from whom I bought it == but the quality was good. Haartz canvas, tan both outside and inside, with the plastic large rear window. Thanks. Bob Quote
Robin (UK) Posted March 29, 2013 Report Posted March 29, 2013 I got mine from Bill Hirsch and fitted it with a glass rear window. I'm very pleased with the quality, and fit. Quote
1940plymouth Posted March 29, 2013 Report Posted March 29, 2013 Bob, Check with Wm Steed on the POC forum, he is a member of this forum also but I don't recall the name he goes by, he just ordered a new top for his '39 Plymouth convertible sedan. By the way, how is your convertible coming along, are you going to be able to drive her this year? Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted March 29, 2013 Author Report Posted March 29, 2013 Thanks for the replies. I did find two places selling the Haartz canvas tops......E Z Soft Tops and Kwik Tops. For the top itself, each place wants about $520. Add a bit more for the rear window and the pads. Hopefully it will get done in time to drive at least some this summer. He works on it when he gets some spare time. Quote
