Thanks, I found a photo-copy that I got from Chrysler Historical that shows the position.

James, glad to know you could find a period photo showing the correct position of the back up light as well share it with everyone. You may also have solved another long standing question at the same time. Notice where the weather stripping for the trunk is located? It's just possible that this is how it came from the factory on all Chrysler's vehicles of that time.
