sbright66 Posted July 12, 2014 Report Posted July 12, 2014 I would agree and wish my car would have came like that, but it didn't and had the factory sway bar which had to be removed for the new steering set up. Quote
sbright66 Posted July 25, 2014 Report Posted July 25, 2014 Well, I got the sway bar mounts made and welded in and the rear spring perch made but going to take it to my alignment guy to make sure it is straight and true before final welding. Now need to clean up the frame area before he gets it. Progress is slow but making head way. Quote

Looking good Steve, did you eliminate the 2 solid square parallel bars (which also has a solid round bar parallel to the front axle) that clamp to the front axle? I think that is some sort of sway bar which also keeps the front axle from moving fore & aft. I've seen in the service manual some sort of "shock" on each side & "sway bar"(?) which spans the front axle, that may have been a mid year change for '38. EDIT:Any before pics? sbright66 Posted July 29, 2014 Report Posted July 29, 2014 Yes all that has been removed to make for the new steering system. I will take really good pics once it is totally installed and then taken apart again and cleaned up. Hopefully next week. Quote
