GeorgeLeonard Posted August 25, 2012 Report Posted August 25, 2012 Can anyone tell me where to go to buy a bracket to convert my generator to an alternator? (1949 Plymouth 218 engine) Everyone tells me to just fabricate one but it turns out that I am not that talented. I searched through the archives but all the links I found were out dated. I know you can buy them for Chevy sixes but does anyone know how I can locate a Mopar one? Thanks for any suggestions.:) Quote
Andydodge Posted August 25, 2012 Report Posted August 25, 2012 George, apart from fabricating an alternator bracket from scratch you can use the original generator bracket and use a piece of "3/8th all thread" long enough to go between the 2 generator bracket arms that the generator bolts onto. Then you'll need a few 3/8 nuts and adjust the allthread so that its held tight onto the alternator arms then tighten the extra nuts on the allthread to hold onto the generator bracket nuts.........does this make sense?........lol........hope so.........andyd Quote
