54Illinois Posted March 31, 2012 Report Posted March 31, 2012 Is there anything special I need to do with the oil pressure relief switch? I pulled the filter to replace the freeze plug. If there is no filter, what does the oil pressure relief switch do? Quote
james curl Posted April 1, 2012 Report Posted April 1, 2012 It opens when the pressure gets to a per-determined pressure and returns the excessive pressurized oil to the crank case, thus not causing any damage due to too much oil pressure. Quote
Niel Hoback Posted April 1, 2012 Report Posted April 1, 2012 Not having a filter has no effect on the regulator valve. Quote
