Oldguy48 Posted February 23, 2012 Report Posted February 23, 2012 Worked on prepping my 4-door P15’s headliner bows before painting them today. And although I know the subject has been discussed in the past, I thought I’d share what I found on my bows after cleaning and wire-brushing. I measured each bow, checked for stamped letters/numbers, and paint color. Here’s what I found: Bow #1 (closest to windshield) - 50 ¼” long, stamped F1AA, painted silver on one end Bow #2 - 54 5/8” long, stamped W, painted red on one end Bow #3 - 55 5/8” long, stamped F, painted yellow on one end Bow #4 - 56 ½” long, stamped XV, painted tan on one end Bow #5 - 56 5/16” long, stamped WV, painted pink on one end Bow #6 (closest to trunk) - 53 7/8” long, stamped F6V, painted tan on one end I marked each bow with a center punch, 1 mark for #1, 2 marks for #2, etc. for easier identification after painting. The headliner appeared to be the original, based on its condition when I removed it, so I assume the bows are the originals. My parts book (page 257)lists the bows, but not with any identifying numbers like what I found, and there’s no mention of the colors. This info may or may not be helpful, but might provide some answers to someone. Quote

bobostski Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 I went to the plumbing dept. of my local hardware store and found the rubber gromets for the ends of the bows. They were about a 98% match. Quote
Oldguy48 Posted February 25, 2012 Author Report Posted February 25, 2012 The grommets can be purchased at McMaster-Carr as well. I ordered mine on-line, and had them in about two days. I can't recall what the stock # was, but it's fairly easy to do a search on their website. Quote
