Guest Dave Claussen Posted April 21, 2007 Report Posted April 21, 2007 We had a small station like one of those in our town until progress came rolling along and now it's been replaced by a Walgreens. When I first starting driving, I'd fill up my '54 Chevy Belair there for around 35 cents a gallon and they'd wash the windows, check the oil and the tire pressure, and you only ever used cash, no credit cards or pay "at the pump" back then. That was in the early 70's. Boy, sure do miss those days. Could've drive my '54 for 3 months for what it costs to fill up my GMC pickup just once nowadays. Thanks for jogging the old memory a little. Dave P.S. Love the ones shaped like the airplane, hat and boot, teapot, and yellow Shell. Quote
