Don Coatney
Lou; I suspect your aftermarket temperature gauge will now read a few degrees cooler than the actual engine temperature. The coolant will be flowing through the heater core and losing temperature before the gauge reads it. And if you have a valve to stop flow to the heater the gauge reading will be even further off. Guest Nile Limbaugh
I agree with Don. The plug in the head of my 37 was slotted, which makes 'em even harder to get a grip on. I finally drilled through the center (being careful not to drill through the water jacket and into the combustion chamber) leaving enough slot to get a big screwdriver to grip the edges. Then I heated the snot out of it with a propane torch. After all the mayhem I turned it right out.
BobT-47P15
In your case, Lou, they don't call it plumbing for nothing. Don't think pvc pipe would have woked so great here.
Lou Earle
I thought the rear heater attachment was for water flowing to the heater and the front was the return to the system. Am I wrong?/ Is it that the front attachment it the beginning and the rear is the return? Lou
