I have recently purchased Tail Lights from Roberts, they are very small and not assembled, the parts appear to be inferior and do not fit together well. Can anyone advise me as to where I can find quality tail lights?

Vintage Power Wagons does carry the bent steel brackets for driver and passenger side. They are the correct gauge, are laser cut and needed very little filing and breaking of the edges to get them painted and looking perfect.

I felt I'd outgrown the Pep Boys plastic lens Trailer Light look and wanted something a little more upscale. VPW also supplied a tail light housing. While it was a whole lot nicer than what I was running, they tended to be a little bit of a disappointment. Don't get me wrong they look real nice, but my complaint is the housing does not have a clear lens along the base of the housing that acts as back-ups light or more importantly a license plate downlight.

Unfortunately, there is also no "script".

The wiring also left something to be desired as it was wired with one black and one white wire and included that cheap plastic wire sheath (which was immediatly trashed and replaced with Asphalt Loom which is a whole lot more "period correct looking for things made in the 50's. The glass lens is nice but by no means even close to OEM.

Would I buy them again? Yes. The overall the change is much better, worth the money, but would really like to find original housings and script lenses from some old guy in some old boxes. The only problem with this is that I'm starting to be "that old guy".

Did you want Pics of the outside mirror brackets? I have returned the taillights from Roberts. The mirror brackets were to narrow to fit over my door hinge assembly, currently having a pair fabricated from Rare Parts in Stockton, CA.

I was asking about the tail lights.
