Lou Earle Posted November 1, 2006 Report Posted November 1, 2006 Anyone got any suggestions on removing the plugs in the water by pass connection and the block so I can install fitting and connect the hoses?/ Have wire brushed the threads(exposed) to remove paint then shot it with pb blaster- still will not budge- Think it would help if I ran engine and got it hot? teardrop puller Posted November 1, 2006 Report Posted November 1, 2006 If it is a square one, what I do is use a 1/2 drive socket backwards and then drive it with a big allen wrench with a big wrench used for leverage. I usualy use a 6 point impact wrench socket. I got all of the plugs out of my P18 with the wrench trick and some PB blaster. kai Quote
Guest jtw3749c Posted November 1, 2006 Report Posted November 1, 2006 Another thought, that I have used on some stubborn threads. I have used a propane torch, which don't get as hot as an acetylene torch and it does work, it just takes a little time. If that don't work, then get out the acetylene. Make sure you wear the colored goggles, so you can see when to stop heating and not melt anything. If it's painted, you can always repaint. JT Quote
Brad Lustig Posted November 1, 2006 Report Posted November 1, 2006 MAPP gas is right there in between the two as far as temp. Much more versatile IMO. You can find it in the local hardware store in the yellow can. You can melt stuff with it but it takes a while. Quote
