austinsailor Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 My wife wants me to put the front bumper back on the 40 Dodge sedan. Needs chrome bad. A few years ago I checked with some company that basically did an exchange and it was about $500 for front and back, including guards. I just called bumper boyz and they want $375 just for the front. Any thoughts out there? It might just get sandblasted and silver paint! Quote
HughForrest Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 Better Google Bumper Boyz first. Many horror stories. Quote
rockable Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 You will not be happy, if you're particular about how the chrome looks. Good chrome work is expensive because it is labor intensive to get all the pits out and get the bumper smooth before applying the plating. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted June 22, 2011 Report Posted June 22, 2011 You might check with this shop in Cuba, MO......a couple forum members received good work from them. Don't know their prices. Highline Plating INC Industrial Park, Cuba, MO 65453 http://www.highlineplating.com... (573) 885-7651 Quote
austinsailor Posted June 22, 2011 Author Report Posted June 22, 2011 Thanks. I talked to them at a car show a year or two ago, but had forgotten about them. The more I think about it, I might just sandblast, fill all the divits and paint it silver. It's far from a show car. I'm supposed to be the transportation for my nephew's wedding in a month or so. My wife wants it to have a bumper, but the requirement so far has not included chrome. Quote
