My 51 B3B had a vacuum motor for the wipers. Ran on 6 volts and mounted to the firewall on the passenger side. Engine vacuum was applied to an inport and if vacuum fell below a preset Hg the motor took over to keep full vaccum to the wipers.

Was that a factory option?

Don, I don't know if it was an option or not, the wire to the electric motor was in the harness though.And appeared to be made that way. Guess I'll never know since I don't have the truck any more now.
