Nice Pic, nice scenery as usual Bob.

Great minds think alike, I just took this pic this afternoon, it is on the 1st mile of my road( Fillmore Rd), the Deer were into the field about 200 yards.

Now I have seen on many occasions double or triple this amount in spring only, or should I say late winter very early spring.

Not try to 1 up you Bob, but have been thinking of sharing this with you Guys, so took a pic today.

There are huge numbers of Deer right on my road, but only an Archery or Black Powder season for them, as too many houses and people around.

Once upon a time there were very few if any Deer in Manitoba, Buffalo (Bison) roamed the land here, but by the 1890s most were killed off as what happened in the USA, Deer started migrating North and west from Ontario and Minnesota, but today Manitoba has a huge Deer over population.

This January they opened a special season near Killlarney Manitoba in south western Manitoba, because the Town was inundated with about 500 Deer living in and around the town.....

aero3113,

I was stationed at Montauk Point at the 773 Radar Squadron there from July of '69 until Sept of '70 and I remember how large the deer population was there. You really had to pay attention driving from the site thru Montauk towards East Hampton.

Are they still as bad now as 40 some odd years ago?

I would say yes. My wife's family has a house on Shelter Island (between the forks of Long Island) and it is over populated with deer, they have no where to go. They extend the hunting season to try and control them.
