John Mulders Posted March 25, 2007 Report Posted March 25, 2007 So a bit of time to work on this. I put the rubber in the window molding. The bottom hole lines up nicely with the vent window pin. The top pin I am not sure about. Seems that I need to make a hole (there is something visible from the inside that makes me think that) so the pin goes through that. That area is very thin aswell (see pic with the red circle). But how can I get that pin through the hole when the rubber is already in place? I could push the ventwindow down and then try to flip the rubber over it but don't want to force it. Anyone has done this and knows how to do this? Put the molding in the door (just to see how it looks) and it seems to fit nicely and the rubber covers the gap to the doorpanel. Thanks John Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted March 25, 2007 Report Posted March 25, 2007 John, Don't make any more holes in there. Those seals are tough to get lined up properly. I did mine several years ago and actually forgot the exact steps. However, I remember I had to keep playing with them and repositioning them to make them fit right. Just gotta keep at it. Quote
John Mulders Posted March 25, 2007 Author Report Posted March 25, 2007 Norm, I agree, the seal should be "factory" standard correct. On the bottom part I had to puncture the hole for the big window pin (very thin piece of rubber). The two holes you see on the first pic do not go through but is the space for the screws for the top plate. The red circle is where there is a similar spot. If I don't have a hole there the pin would go over the rubber and I don't think that is correct. I woun't be able to get the pin in the metal lid that screws to the frame with two screws. John Quote
