Guest Sheldon Bates Posted March 23, 2007 Report Posted March 23, 2007 Well it been a while, but I was able to drive Rusty out of the shop. I have it down getting the mufflers installed and hope to pick it up tomorrow. I have installed 2x2's, cast headers, S10 dist. front disk brakes and a duel master cyl. plus some chrome. The engine fired on the first try (love those flatheads) sounds great. I want to thank Tom Langdon at Stovebolt 6 he was a great help with some problems I had. Now the real work can begain, glass, body work, paint, trim etc. Why do we call this fun it's a lot of hard work. Now if any one need's to buy a forklift let me know. I need to pay for all of this. Guest 50Plymouth Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 Looking good. What length mufflers you choose? Ryan Quote
Normspeed Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 Very nice... I'll bet it sounds great. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 Glad you are making progress. Should sound nice. With these old cars, we just have to keep thinking that hard work is fun. Nice when we see results. Quote
Niel Hoback Posted March 25, 2007 Report Posted March 25, 2007 I find hard work is fun if you don't have to get it done on time, or at all. Hard work is ok if its not for someone else. Hard work is hard work only if you gotta do it. Quote
Guest Sheldon Bates Posted March 25, 2007 Report Posted March 25, 2007 So far I find that if I don't do no one else will. I some times think that I would like to be like some car people and take a project to a shop write a big check and drive it home. Then take it to all of the shows and get trophies for building such a great car. I don't have that kind of money to spend on toys so I do my own work and complain that I never seem to get it all done. Even if I did have the money I'm not sure that I could have someone else build a car for me. I do enjoy the scrounging and having the feeling of having brought a dead heap of metal back life. I also enjoy talking with people like are on this forum who seem to be about the same as me. Thank You for being there. Sheldon & "Rusty the 48 Plymouth" Quote
