joenailer Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 Okay, so I bought a piece of land with an old barn on it and found a 1948 B1C. looks like it was parked 20 years ago, not beat up, not missing anything big almost looks like you could put a battery in it and throw in some fresh gas and fire it up. not likley but maybe. anyway, It will run again, its in too good a shape not to but while I'm digging around talking to my mopar guru, he says he's got one of the small 1953 tug hemi's that has been completely remaufactured, dissassembled, bagged and stored that I can have, just to get it out of his shop, now knowing him, I'll have to put siding on his house or something fair but is it worth it? I've watched the thread of the hemi swap going on here, doesn't seem like too big a deal. I'm tempted to just get it running and drive it. its in that good of shape, but to have a real hemi. I think my daughter driving it to school would draw some attention! Quote
1940plymouth Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 If it is as good as you mentioned, try to get it running and if the engine runs, keep it stock. These old flatties are GREAT and you won't be disappointed Quote
thrashingcows Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 Get the Hemi anyways for Garage art, for now...and maybe to put in something down the road? Quote
WatchingWolf Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 get the hemi, fix the flattie. The world is full of great rides that need motors. Quote
38Plyroadking Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 Where are you located....I'll buy it from you!! :-) Definitely get the hemi and decide later what to do. Getting that original motor to run is fun and rewarding and MUCH easier than an engine swap. You could sell that hemi, buy the Langdon dual carb setup, fenton exhaust manifold and have $100's left over and still have a peppy motor to tool around in. Quote
