kfxinsd007 Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 Went to move the old plymouth last night - needed to charge the battery - one more thing to add to the list of things to do (buy new one) - anyway the throttle return spring broke sending the motor close to a redline disaster - is there a good place to get a spring like the original - or will any spring with about the same tension do - What have you guys done? garbagestate 44 Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 I just went to a parts counter and grabbed the first spring they gave me and it works fine. Good luck Quote
randroid Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 kfxinsd007, I did just what our friend from New Jersey did except I measured the tension a little in that you want enough tension to give a quick response when you take your foot off the gas but too much tension could give you a tired foot on a long drive. If you don't think making a throttle return spring react quickly is easy just ask Toyota. -Randy Quote
aero3113 Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 If you go to an auto store they usually sell an assortment of springs (maybe 5 different springs) in a box for around $5. One in that set will fit. Quote
