jakenoklahoma Posted June 14, 2010 Report Posted June 14, 2010 From another forum, a poster upgraded to "late model" drums, from circia 1971. "a set of front drums from a 1971 truck. The are larger and self adjusting, the bolted straight on, the only mod I made was to change to two lower mounting bolts from the 1951 so that the head would clear the new shoes." Interesting for those who might wish to keep drums but have a newer technology of sorts. the link:http://www.dodgetalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=270890 Quote

Carl Oh, I didn't do it, just found the posting at another forum and decided to share. I have a one ton, so I dont think it will work for me. Seems like a good way to get self adjusting drums & bigger brakes, though. Edited June 18, 2010 by jakenoklahoma Quote
Bobacuda Posted June 18, 2010 Report Posted June 18, 2010 You were able to use the '70 model Dodge truck hubs on the '50 model Dodge truck spindles? Has anyone used the '70 model hubs with the Rustyhope disc brake upgrade? What about using a set of disc brakes from a '70 model Dodge truck on a '50 model truck? Quote
