flattiefreak Posted June 4, 2010 Report Posted June 4, 2010 I have heard of some people going to dual points ignition. I would like to convert my distributor over to this set up. What is all required to achieve this set up? Where can I get the parts? This is a 12volt system. any knoledge is appreciated. Quote
P-12 Tommy Posted June 4, 2010 Report Posted June 4, 2010 Don Coatney would be the person to talk to about dual points. Tom Quote
Don Coatney Posted June 4, 2010 Report Posted June 4, 2010 I have been running dual points for years and I am very happy with the performance. I bought the following conversion set-up on eBay. I do not know of anyone making new conversion kits. As with any 12 volt conversion you must use a resistor (internal or external to the coil) to reduce the voltage going to the points and coil. Quote
flattiefreak Posted June 4, 2010 Author Report Posted June 4, 2010 thank you for the replies and the pictures. I searched on ebay and couldnt find anything. I guess I will just keep looking until one pops up. Quote
PatS.... Posted June 4, 2010 Report Posted June 4, 2010 Christian, you might check out Langdons Stovebolt for electronic ignition if that would be a good second choice for you. Quote

DutchEdwin Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 Don't know if you already did find one but on my car it came as a standard, 1955 P27, car as described below. Hope this helps on the search. Quote
