rockable Posted May 31, 2010 Report Posted May 31, 2010 Can you fit a horn ring to the steering wheel of a non-horn ring steering wheel? What is required? Quote
claybill Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 no....not really.. horn cap is different diameter. there are grooves notched in the cap for the ring... i thought of it.....but steering wheels are easy. get a rough one for $20 and fill the bare spots with PC-7 epoxy (only this brand will work 100%) mold big spots with plastic sandwich wrap. the deluxe 41 wheel had 2-3 bumps at 7 oclock and 4 oclock. 46-7-8 had them all around. bill Quote
rockable Posted June 1, 2010 Author Report Posted June 1, 2010 Darn. Thanks, Bill. I'm guessing those caps aren't easy to find. Right? Quote
claybill Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 i thnk you must use the deluxe wheel too...the arms go horizontally and one down from the center...like a 'T'......on regular wheels they are at an angle..? check it out.......'41 wheels are hard to find....'46-7-8 are easier. are you fussy? bill Quote
rockable Posted June 1, 2010 Author Report Posted June 1, 2010 No, there were some 41 horn rings for sale on ebay and I was contemplating one. Thanks. Quote
claybill Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 rock...you are going to need the complete set of ring, button/cap abd wheel for all to fit. b Quote
rockable Posted June 2, 2010 Author Report Posted June 2, 2010 Thanks for your input. Given that, I will pass on the horn ring only opportunity. Having one without the other is no good to me. Quote
