BobT-47P15 Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 I was waxing the Plymouth today in preparation for the Saturday show at the Elks lodge. Over time I have acquired several small pinholes in the paint....caused by tree sap, as best I can tell. Those nice, shady parks and other places they hold shows are great on a hot day. But those trees drip a little fine sap stuff that you don't really notice. So, my best free advice is to wash or wax your car after attending a show under the trees. Quote
adam_knox Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 ...Also dog's are not our car's best friend. Make sure your car is waxed before you and Fido go for a ride... While the pup may look cute with the tongue flopping out the window, the drool on the side of the car likes to discolor paint. Quote
Jim Yergin Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 Bob, After your experience with the coupe, I would have thought you already knew all too well that trees are not your car's friend. Jim Yergin Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted May 21, 2010 Author Report Posted May 21, 2010 Jim, Some trees are meaner than others. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted May 22, 2010 Author Report Posted May 22, 2010 Tom.....it's just sitting and waiting for now. Dale, the son in law, has to finish a paying job on an old Ford sedan delivery street rod before diving in on the coupe. He tinkers with it a little.....just bought a new fuel pump from Rock Auto for it. Then, we finally figured out the previous fuel pumps were likely good since the problem was - they were hooked up backwards. Not sure how that occurred in the first place, but it did. Still looks like this after jacking the roof back up. Quote
Charlie Olson Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 Yep! Having the wood sides on PLYWOOD is great tree Karma. Whenever I get a little paint blemish, I just do a little fine paper sanding, get out the rattle can and PLYWOOD is back in business Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted May 22, 2010 Author Report Posted May 22, 2010 Yep, Charlie, PLYWOOD is definitely one of a kind. I have thought it would be neat if someone made a convertible P15 woodie. But it wouldn't be me, as I have trouble cutting a straight line with a saw. Quote
