DollyDodge Posted May 19, 2010 Report Posted May 19, 2010 This morning I went to DMV and did the paperwork on Dolly Dodge and I was issued a temporary license for her. The new title paperwork went without a hitch. Her last registration papers I had were 1982. Anyway she is legal again (well except for the blinkers, need for new tires, and few other minor mechanical things). Rob Quote
Bob_Koch Posted May 19, 2010 Report Posted May 19, 2010 Glad to hear you'll legally be on the road soon. Also, thank you for your contribution towards the cailfornia debt by way of the DMV. Quote
HanksB3B Posted May 19, 2010 Report Posted May 19, 2010 (for me anyway) was when they looked for the records back to 85 when I had last registered the truck and couldn't find them. I had not filed for a non-operating permit which for $19 voids the requirement for paying yearly registratration in arrears from 1985-2010. 25 years of registration fees would not have been fun. Good ol' DMV, Congratulations! Hank Quote
DollyDodge Posted May 19, 2010 Author Report Posted May 19, 2010 I am glad I didn't have to pay back fees for sure. Quote
rustyzman Posted May 20, 2010 Report Posted May 20, 2010 Nice. In Illinois if you have not plated a vehicle for about 10 years, they purge the system and your vehicle is bumped from all records. This can be a good thing is some cases. Always helps to call and see if they have a record of your serial number. Good to hear you'll be on the road soon! Quote
DollyDodge Posted May 20, 2010 Author Report Posted May 20, 2010 My old truck wasn't in the system anymore. All in all it went very easy Quote
davidross Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 (edited) Unless they changed it, In IL. a vehicle is considered in storage after three years. Just have to pay for the plates to get it back on the road. Edited May 24, 2010 by davidross Quote
