THANX for the info ... PETE is the button in the end of your shift knob your kick down switch ? & where did you get your relay ? i have been researching a lot about wiring this thing up and some versions seem really confusing with all the toggle switches & such i`m looking for the most simply install & operation i can find ..thanx

The switch on my shifter is indeed the kickdown switch...

I used the factory wiring diagram, because I wanted the system to work automatically like it was intended.

The only change I made to the factory diagram, is that I removed the wire from the kickdown switch to the ignition coil. My HEI didn't like being grounded out, and would protest by blowing the fuse.

I love the way my od works. It does it's thing in the background, and I don't have to flip any switches, remember if it is on or off, etc. Took a bit more time to wire correctly, but couldn't be simpler to operate which is what I was after. I wanted anyone to be able to drive the car without having to know any tricks.

I agree with Pete that he is correct about not needing a lot of instructions to operate. I have mine on a toggle switch on my old pick up and anytime I loan it out I have to explain that they are not to mess with the switch and to use the parking brake when parked. Mine has been the neighborhood dump&brush run, sand, fill dirt or whatever hauler for the last 32 years. One of my neighbors still use it now that we have more pick ups in the area.
