Just a tip that those who deal with overdrive transmissions probably already know. The basic parts in the Borg Warn overdrive R10 are not Plymouth or Mopar specific (though the regular three speed transmission parts in the overdrive transmissions are). I was able to buy a NOS balk ring on eBay for my Plymouth overdrive. It was actually from an old Rambler dealership and was listed as being for 1950 - 1955 Ramblers. The key was that the listing referred to the R10 transmission.

It is exactly the same as the worn out one in my transmission.

Jim,

thanks, good to know...I bought an Asche B-W unit a few years ago, but never installed it in my '40 Dodge. I am just about to attach it to my rebuilt 218...I've aligned the clutch, attached the bell housing, etc. Is there a gasket or anything between the bellhousing and the o/d?

Thanks

Bob,

Yes there is one. Take a look at this thread.
