Picture of a 48-53 tail light needed...

Guys,

I am looking for a good picture of a 1948-53 tail light bucket, my parts books shows it as part number 1195670.

I have the pictures in the parts books, and the pictures in Don Bunn's B-series book, but I am looking for more close up picture.

From what I am seeing so far the lights look much like the 39-47 light, but the parts books show a different number.

Here is what the one of my 48 looks like but not sure if it is the same for a truck. I recently found an NOS lense but it does not have the ribs in the round center section.. so I will continue to look for the right one

I think your taillight housing and license plate bracket were stock Dodge items that were send with your windshield cowl chassis to the J. T. Cantrell & Co. where the woodie boy was put on.

The hinged bracket that the housing is mounted on was most built and provided by Cantrell (I have seen this hinged bracket on Cantrell bodied truck woodies on Dodge, Chevrolet, and GMC chassis. As an aside, GM trucks used the same hinged bracket, but used a StopRay taillight housing like the ones used on the General Motors panel trucks.

Your taillight lens is not original. The original lens says DODGE across it.

Here's a picture of the original taillight that has been on my 1948 Dodge B1B108 Cantrell Woodie since it was new.

Charles, thanks for the note, I purchased a lense like the one you showed right after I got the dodge but did not know what year it was for but since it said Dodge on it thought it would work.. Then later bought the NOS one similar to what I have now...
