Hello,

Can anyone tell me how the pivot shaft for the brake and clutch pedal is held into the master cylinder housing. The existing master cylinder on my car is all rusty and going to be replaced with a new one that does not come with the pivot shaft. On the old one, the pivot shaft doesn't seem to want to budge even after being soaked in penetrating oil for days. Is it pressed in by any chance?

The 3/4" shaft is a press fit. It will come out but you should use a press and not a hammer. It must be positioned correctly when re-installed or else the pedals will not fit correctly.
