Tim, You know something they pay people alot of money to make sure things are correct. I was on a movie set and the picture car person and they made a comment. " everything looks correct right? I told him that cars in the 30's and 40's did not have "radial tires" when you put those cars next to mine they look miniture. They did not know what a prewar car was as opposed to a postwar car. The guy started calling me on the mornings of the shoot to ask me what cars could be used that day. I guess that's why they used my car all the time.

Movie cats, you got to love em. So much money to spend. I got a call and these guy's wanted to use the 61 hawk, I told them I could not let them use it. The guy said "oh we will give you what you want" I said no, I have not messed the car up yet. I can't let you guy's do it for me. Someone is supposed to call me monday...the answer is still NO:rolleyes:

Well one positive from the show is this. A lot of non-car people have a car from the 50's or 60's and think because they saw an episode of Barrett Jackson that their car is worth 60 to 70 K. Maybe some of those people will watch and realize that their 56 Ford with a 6cly is not worh as much as a 70 Hemi Cuda.

I am not really qualified to say what that little Plymouth is worth, but I think it was a very good find. I wish it were mine!

yeh it was a good find..it's the guy just thinks he can flip it and make$$..well not at the $5500 mark...just go through the car get it running put the company sign on the doors and use it for advertising?

you think the guy would keep a issue of old car value guide?he has all this other knowledge of what other antiques are worth...

It's worth MORE than a '70 Hemi 'Cuda! It's 14 years older! /sarcasm off

I normally enjoy the pickers show - but I wonder if they often list the "value" of items on the low side. Low, so future pickees won't be leery of selling to the pickers, pickee's thinking they're getting ripped off by missing the huge profit. On another show the pickers bought some metal signs that they picked for $25 and the value listed at the end of the show was 50. The same sign I see in antique malls normally for $150 or more.
