P-12 Tommy Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 Any of you guys looking for bow grommets? I found something at Harbor Freight today that will work. They are a two piece snap together deal. The only thing is the hole is a little big so you'll have to wrap some duct tape on the end of the bow. It was around $3.00 a pack of 10. Beats $40.00 for a set of repros on E-bay. Item # 43254:) BTW.... squeeze them together with a small pair of pliers. Tom Quote
thrashingcows Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 I am unfamiliar with the headliner set-up, could you described what these are for and how they are used? Quote
P-12 Tommy Posted February 23, 2010 Author Report Posted February 23, 2010 There are 12 holes (6 per side) above the doors that have a rubber grommet so you can install your bows when you're ready to put in your headliner. Tom Quote

Fireball Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Good score, I ended up cutting a piece of thick wall rubber hose that fits tightly into the hole. I made them so long, a bit over 1", that the other end rests against the roof. That way they stay in place since the bow presses it from the other end. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Seems as if Norm's Coupe discussed headliner bows and maybe the grommets in a thread or two. Might see if anything comes up in the archives. Quote

Harvey Tank Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 I went down to the local tire shop and picked up some used valve stems and cut the ends off, and they worked great. Quote

P-12 Tommy Posted February 24, 2010 Author Report Posted February 24, 2010 Sounds better than my idea. Tom Quote
