dantinxy Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 Ok, I am going to try to post a message here to stir the pot. This is a query to try to find a secondary source for my D24 body parts. My primary source was Plymouth Doctor but he has been unresponsive for months. I originally bought L/R floor extensions and inner and outer rockers but the short of it is that my body shop could do nothing with them because the set was incomplete -- inner rockers shipped were wrong.. had to be sent back. Replacements were too short, etc.... Here is what I need -- 1) Front inner rockers as the ones Plymouth Doctor fabricated were too short - these are for a coupe. What he sent after were not the front ones but something my body shop had no idea what to do with (shallow U shape that doesn't mate to other inners) and had to stop the job. Costing me $ and time... The shop kicked my car out because Wayne wouldn't respond. 2) Availability and pricing of the floor cross members 3) Availability and pricing of the entire floor section After repeated tries to contact Wayne at Plymouth doctor, I am now seeking alternates. Thanks DJ Quote
dantinxy Posted January 26, 2010 Author Report Posted January 26, 2010 Sorry, attached is the photo claiming to be the inner rocker extensions. They may well be but my body shop had no idea what to do with them and PD never really explained how they mated up as the inners, as you know, are a more complex shape. Quote
michael.warshaw Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 call gill he sold me my floor parts. Quote
dezeldoc Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 (edited) I would say find a more competent body shop that does more restorations than late model unbolt/bolt on parts changer. any good body man should be able to fabricate body parts to certain extent. their is a pair of floors on ebay right now. ps, put where you are located at the top of you info so people know where you and can maybe recommend different services to ya. aero3113 Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 Did you try www.rockauto.com ? They sell sheet metal parts now. Check and see if they supply for your year. Quote
dantinxy Posted January 27, 2010 Author Report Posted January 27, 2010 Thanks to all replies. After looking at my photo I posted earlier, I think he sent me the front sill plate and not the front inner rocker. Quote
rockerbillykat Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 If you have a usable sample of your rockers, inner and outer, a good sheet metal man should be able too fold up a new set! Just make sure that you take an over all measurment and allow 6inches extra lenghth for an adjustments. I had mine made up by a guy who makes air conditioning duct work! He did a fantastic job and it cost me $120.00 for the whole set! Dont forget to get em made as a left and right set. The other thing i noticed when taking measurments was that the outer sill where the door will sit(that little right angle) at the front edge of the sill, gets narrower towards the rear door. At least thats what i found with my 4 door sedan! hope this helps some! Brad. Quote
