another r-10 question

Guys,

I want to put a three speed overdrive in my early 49 club coupe

Here is my question. Many Vehicle manufacturers put Borg warner three speeds with overdrives in them.

Is a borg warner t-86 r10 the same transmission whether its in a chevy or a ford or a stude or a mopar?

I can understand that the input shaft may be different, but is the overall transmission the same?

I would think either the input shaft could be swapped, and or...

the tail shaft from a regular mopar 3 speed be removed and a od unit from another transmission be added.

You need an entire Mopar 3 speed w/ overdrive setup, as the transmission is modified for use with the OD unit. You can't just add an OD unit to a standard 3 speed.
