Rodney Bullock Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 I have been traveling to indoor shows this month and saw a car that I thought was one of the best customs I have seen in 10 years. The car is so well made that I could not believe it. It made me feel all fuzzy inside. I am so glad that folks are still making or should I say designing cars that are so wonderful. I know this car will not be driven until it get s some age on it however right now as the owner enjoys it's "newness" it's great to see it fresh. Quote
Rodney Bullock Posted December 9, 2009 Author Report Posted December 9, 2009 The new trend I have noticed is the use of exotic material in the interior of cars. I talked to some interior installers at the show and the price of these cars are outragous. One guy told me that 5,000 to 6,000 is not out of the question for a interior job. The new material they are refering to is call "ultra leather" they are also using "Ostrage" I hope I am spelling it right. It's the bird that sticks it's head in the ground;)you know. The guys using this only accent the interior with it and as you know it is very very expensive. This Ultra leather is something to behold because it wears so well and looks like heaven:) My old street rod is dated it has ttweed in it. It just so happens that I lkike tweed in my cars as it's cool in the summer and warm in the winter. this new stuff can not be denied. It makes you want to keep building cars forever and ever and.......... Quote

BobT-47P15 Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 Any more pics of that nice vehicle, Rodney. Just what did it start out as originally?? Quote
Rodney Bullock Posted December 10, 2009 Author Report Posted December 10, 2009 It's a 1949 Plymouth. When I saw it I was spell bound. There were not alot of mopar there however there was a Duster I think 71 I had a Demon 72 great car. My wife hated it. We were 17 years old and we would go for long drives in the country. The car had these two vents on each side under the dash. I would get the 318 up to about 60 mph and it would blow her dress up;)Oh how I loved that car. My cousin asked my mother to make me let them use it and he wrecked it 2 hours after I gave him the key. This is why I got the Trans am for graduation as she felt bad. They never had access to my cars again. Boy they sure messed up, look what they could have been playing with now:D Here is a pic of the fender skirt and the inside of the 1949 Plymouth very very nice. Car is sporting a carson top. There is also a 1957 Ford in the line up I don't have to tell you why. Quote
Frank Blackstone Posted December 12, 2009 Report Posted December 12, 2009 Rodney If it was real Ostrich it would be the most expensive part of the car. My Dad sold shoes and had a customer that he sold 5 pairs of real Ostrich shoes in 5 diffferent colors at 1000.00 (0ne thousand)each. I have the pair he had for himself and they have a grain with a point where each of the feathers were attached. Very unique looking. Quote
