michael.warshaw Posted September 27, 2009 Report Posted September 27, 2009 well i sanblaste my horns and they came out great, but i hear sand in them do you think they are ruined? is it possible to ruin the diaphrams inside? any help would be appreciated. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted September 27, 2009 Report Posted September 27, 2009 Unscrew the screw on top of the horn bell and remove the cap. Then blow out the sand with the air hose. Put the top back on and see if the horn still works. If not, they can be readjusted, but don't mess with adjusting them until you try just cleaning them first like I mentioned. Quote
Arthur1947 Posted September 27, 2009 Report Posted September 27, 2009 I hooked up my horns the other week and heard nothing but the relay clicking. My Dad said to adjust the screw on either one and sure enough they came to life. I never would have figured that out. Best. ARTHUR Quote
grey beard Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 Hey Mike, Yer supposed to take stuff apart before you sand blast it. You cannot keep sand out of the insides of anything. Period. Back when I was still into antique tractors, I saw several guys ruin engines by sand blasting them. Thought they could keep the sand out with masking tape. NOT!!! Quote
