Neil,

I don't think that's a problem the covers will fix. There was a very interesting post here a couple years ago when one of our members replaced his springs, and if you can't search it he'll likely respond.

It does look like a problem there, Niel. I can't recall that anyone has reported

about saving and re-using the covers. I suspect some thoughts will be forthcoming.

I'm writing this while out in the garage, trying out my fairly new laptop on the

wireless router I just installed. Seems to be working. Now I can (theoretically)

bring the computer with pertinent information out to the car when the need arises.

Guess time will tell if it's a workable idea.

Thanks for the response, I am sort of looking for new springs now. I see JC Whitney says they are unavailable, though.

If possible, I would, like to put the covers back on when I get them changed, just for looks.

Oh well, first things first.

For new springs, I'd look around for a truck spring and driveshaft shop... they are the guys who make custom springs and driveshafts for semi-trucks... I stopped by one back when I lived in South Carolina and they made a new spring for my 79 corvette along with a new driveshaft... while I waited... and they hardly charged me anything - just slipped me in between two larger orders.
