Lou Earle Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 I was having hard time getting clips fo the fender mouldings I bought off e bay as 46-48 frot fender mouldings. They ae wider than on my 2 door or coupe!! And the spear end is different!! Can anyone tell me the numbers fro the mouldings on the convert and the sedan? I am betting they are different- i measure the ones on my convert and they are about 3/8 inch wider than others. Anyone know for sure? Lou Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 Lou, All fenders on all P15's are the same and so are the stainless mouldings. Right Fender part number 1065 541. Left is 1065 542. I have an NOS set of mouldings in the shop. Measuring the back side of one of them it is 1 1/4" wide. Somebody must have used the wrong mouldings on one of your cars. Quote

BobT-47P15 Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 Lou....my front fender mouldings are the same size and style as the others on the car. I have discovered two different type ends on the rear quarter spears---top one more slender and pointed; bottom one more a blunt style. It really takes the business coupe quarter trim.....as the rear end of a convertible is same as a biz coupe, believe it or not. It requires the bizzy trunk lid also. (If you don't believe it, just measure a two seat coupe lid vs a convert lid.) Width will be same, length is different. I'm sure you've probably found all those other differences, such as the wiper stanchions. (Yes, my left one is pitted. Right one is better.) Those little skinny sun visors don't do a heck of a lot, but they're cool. On a c onvert, the dash and window frames are supposed to match the exterior of the car. Quote

It's possible someone used either Chrysler, Dodge or DeSoto front stainless trim on the fenders. Would help to measure the width of yours and post that measurement. Then people with those cars can possibly check theirs. Either that, or make some clips with bolts and washers to fit. I wouldn't put the stainless in a vise to bend it, that might deform it so it doesn't look good at all. Quote
