Now that the clunkers are streaming in, and availability of choices are increasing, I was wondering what the advantages of an exchange of the rear end would be.

The Ford explorer 8.8 was mentioned, and would seem to be a good fit, with a 3.7? w/ disc.

Currently running a 218 w/ OD. Headers, Offy w/2 carter webers, stock cam, electronic dist.

Car is a driver that I enjoy around town , and Sunday drives. Why do I want to change anything?(ya all sound like the wife now) Well I haven't done anything to it in a year, and ya got to keep having fun.

my comments...usually rear ends are changed to get a different ratio for better highway driving..but you already have OD. so....Your current rear is probably 3.9 .

but you gotta keep having fun! i would try front shok re-location and lower the front spring a tad...thats easier fun, and helps..

keep having fun! you got it! i am in the same point with my convert....

The CNN report I saw said only tires, cat, rad and a couple of other things, that's it. Nothing else can be sold, it all has to be crushed. Maserati Biturbo with 18,000 miles is featured on CNN video right now. Has to be crushed.
