jasonmrenda Posted June 19, 2009 Report Posted June 19, 2009 well hello everyone - it's been a good while since i was on here. i was going to skip out on my truck build as i just couldnt justify a few more thousand dollars for a rat rod (the truck is just too far gone to restore fully). So i TRIED selling it and nada. well fast forward acouple months and it's back on. i built a little sporty bar hopper bike that i traded plus a bit of cash for a 67 Dart GT that i absolutely love. It's a /6 which while pretty cool. is a bit slow. And it has drum brakes. So while checking craigslist I found a guy with a 76 Dart w/ a mildly hopped up 318, disk brakes, 5x4.5 bolt pattern wheels, new boosted m/c and a bunch of other useful goodies. Now is where the truck comes in. Since all 3 vehicles are Mopars, i am trying to decide if i should put the 318 in the Dart or the truck? i have complete drivelines for both. the truck is a rat rod so cutting the firewall, etc, all that stuff is fair game. just want to use the parts to the best potential. i'd love more oomph in the Dart as i will not be selling that one any time soon, though part of me is hesitant to rip apart a very well running 42 year old car. but to put the disks brakes on it i'd need to pull a bunch of parts anyway and it's prob easier to swap the whole k frame from the 76 to the 67. then i can drop the /6 driveline into the truck. does this sound like a decnt plan? the donor car will provide driveline, pedals, gas tank, bench seat, rear brakes, wheels, etc, and the sheetmetal from the 76 is beat so i will use it as patch panels. then the rest is off to the scrapper. by the way i hae front fenders, hood, and cowl from the 53 for sale cheap if anyone needs em. thank you - jason Quote
buds truck Posted June 19, 2009 Report Posted June 19, 2009 What shape are the fenders in and where are you located? Quote
jasonmrenda Posted June 19, 2009 Author Report Posted June 19, 2009 here are some photos. i honestly do not know a ton about these things and havent taken a real good inspection of them in a long while so i am sure there will be dents or dings or whatnot. i will leave it to you all who know more about them than i do to help evaluate the condition. they are currently stored inside a large trailer and out of the elements. added some pics. i am just outside boston mass but can deliver or ship if it helps. i put the items on ebay and if it is appropriate i can post the links but i didnt want to just post them without checking first. thank you - jason Quote
