E.L Lane's 48 Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 I know this probably has been posted before, but I could not locate a thread discussng the size of the crank pully bolt on a 1948 plym 218. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Chris Quote
Don Coatney Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 You are best to measure as there are several different sizes. Quote
rolliejoe Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 on a 1951 it's a 1.5" head with ~1.25" thread size. Quote
E.L Lane's 48 Posted May 31, 2009 Author Report Posted May 31, 2009 Thanks for the replies. I am actually trying to work the engine loose, as it has been sitting for 20+ years and is locked up. Chris Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 I went to the flea market and found a fellow selling used tools. Bought a big ol socket for about 5 bucks. Don't recall the size now, but used it to try and turn over the engine in a 54 Plym that was stuck. Fit on that front nut I believe you're speaking of. Quote
E.L Lane's 48 Posted June 1, 2009 Author Report Posted June 1, 2009 Thanks for the help guys. Was at the pawn shop and stumbled across a 1 and 13/16 socket for $4 bucks so I bought it. Brought it home, and what do you know? It fit! I am happy just for the fact I didn't drop the $21 bucks that SEARS wanted for one. Thanks again, Chris Quote
