Frank Blackstone Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 I have sent the address of the threat I experienced to the webmaster. If you are not running sophisticated security software you will not know when you are compromised. My systems check everything entering and exiting my pc. Some threates may be using your participation on websites to gather information. Be advised Frank Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted January 19, 2007 Report Posted January 19, 2007 Frank, I think what you saw is the possible beginning of a virus Trojan being circulated. I haven't had any alerts from my virus protection for some time. However, when my wife went to check our email she got a notice of a virus infected email that tried to load. When I checked, it was a Trojan of some kind (forgot the exact name), but the anti virus deleted it before it loaded. I had been on several new sites a few hours before that. So, I don't think it's from here, it's just something that has started to float around. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted January 19, 2007 Report Posted January 19, 2007 Just a short P.S. to the last post. I know that email with the virus did not come from this site. My email is through a different program than the browser. The infected email also came through on a different email address than I use for this site. So, it could not have originated from simply visiting this site. Quote
Allan Faust Posted January 20, 2007 Report Posted January 20, 2007 And just one thing for me to mention, in concordance with what GTK said in another thread. I was on another board and got the "type" of message that Frank got.... however, the "alert" that was given was from the board in question, and it was because I used the "and, or, not" functions in a search, and the board took that as a "virulent script" and took offense to it. I realized it was me doing it when I tried it a second time, got the same message, tried the search without the and/or/not, and got my search.... Just my 0.02 cents worth..... Allan Quote
