I've read many threads on these twu subjects but they all seem to have run out of gas just at the clinch. Here are my questions:

1. Who handles a rubber fender filler that looks reasonably original - like the photo Reg showed us on a recent thread? Anybody have a source for these? I know Roberts' part is far too small.

2. The upholstery patrterns are a great idea. I affirm the effort, but who can offer a better solution for material to use for door panels and headliners than the original cardboard stuff? Unless some available quality material is usable, the patterns are not too much help. My original stuff is good enough for patterns, but I hate to buy Roberts panels when I know they have relatively short life span. Has anyone tried shellacing or varnishing the back sides of their Roberts kit stuff to keep 'em alive longer?

Years ago we used to get 4 x 8 sheets of fiberblass we used to underpin mobile homes. The stuff was about 1/8 inch thick and cut just like fiber board. The texture was more like fiberglass than the original pebble look of the cardboard, but at least it wouldn't droop, like my original has done.

Your ideas and suggestions are welcome.

Thanks

if you are going to put material over it. Bathroom tile board (its white) plastic comes in sheets and will not deteriorate. does bend but does not make tight curves thou. I have used it on my 29 ford hotrod project that is not so water tight. and my buddy on his 32 roadster (for door panel and rear behind the seat panel.

Hats off to Dave. Coming up with options to the sometimes substandard and all ways costly items that some of the parts vendors offer, is one of the best things about owners clubs and forms like these. I have noticed that there are not many post to the Technical Archives section of the form. Maybe we need to get some of these subjects on there as well? Because of the multi pule threads on the same subject they are getting difficult to locate on the Pilot-House.com Forum because of the large number of post, even though you know you have seen them. Reg Evans had mentioned having a headliner pattern and got several people, myself included asking how we might get a hold of a copy. Now I am not sure how we could make this work, but would be happy to help in anyway that I could. Dutch

Go on over to the P15/D24 side and check in with either Rockwood or Allan Faust. One of them was using a corrugated plastic material for his interior. With a little heat it apparently molds nicely.:)

I may have to go to that stuff since some of my panel board pieces are warping pretty bad.
