I was under the car last weekend and after having rebuilt my rear wheel cylinders just a couple month ago, I now noticed a drop of what appears to be gear oil hanging off my right rear backing plate. I guess it's time for new axle seals. I wouldn't mind so much if I didn't have to scrounge up a puller every time I go into those rears. Darn!

I'm thinking if that's really gear oil on my backing plate, I must have an inner seal leaking, because the outer one would only be sealing in cup grease. Has anyone done the inner and outer seals? I'm wondering, do I need to pull the axle to do an inner seal?
