milo ringe Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 The exhaust manifold on my 53 b4b-108 came off in piceses and all the flappers inside were frozen closed. Then checked the Model number and find out the Engine is a 218 ci but from a 1952 Plymouth car 6cyl. Does anyone know if there is a more modern manifold that will fit these engines ? Something other then the down draft that is on there now ? Quote
grey beard Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 All 218 manifolts will liiely interchange. From year to year there are a few modifications but the only real difference I have observed is that some appear to have the exhaust outlet centered while others have it at or near the rear. There is northing "downdraft" about your manifold. All carburetors used are downdraft except for the sorta' rare truck COE models whiich used an updraft tractor-type carb to save head space underneath the cabs. Good Luck Quote
Reg Evans Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 Milo, there is only one flapper ...right under the carb. Did you get my email and photos? Reg Quote
