brian hood Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 I am working on a 53 B-4 truck. Have anyone sucessfully fabed a modren wiper motor and arms to one of these old trucks? Any advice? Quote
townwagon Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 If you have a vacuum wipers and you want electric there were 6V 2 speed electric wipers available as an option for those trucks from the factory. I have a complete 1951-53 electric wiper setup if you want to go that route. If you are running 12V you could have the motor converted to 12V or you could reduce the voltage to 6V in route to the wiper motor. If you want to fit a modern system I can not help, as I have never tried to retrofit a modern wiper system into one of these trucks. Good luck, Eric Quote
Paul Beard Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 New Port Engineering sells a 12 volyt wiper motor that can be used in all "51" to :54" dodge trucks. I do not if they sell 6 volt motors but you can call and ask. New Port Eng. 2760 New Port Rd. Washington Mo. 63090 636-239-1698 Quote
buds truck Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 I have a Newport engineering electric motor in my 49 Plymouth and it works great and was very easy to install. I would recommend them highly for any and all uses. Bud Quote
