Had the coupe out just running it around a little a few times today. Once after getting back home I turned off the ignition, opened the door and just sit there for a few minutes. While sitting there I started reading the old oil change stickers on the door post. Have 3 of them on there. The first sticker and the one on top was from the dealership the car was sold at. I thought that was neat. Mileage was 31,000. Got an oil change, lube job and a tuneup all the same time.:D Was the original Plymouth DeSoto dealership in Waupun, WI. Below it was a Standard Oil station sticker for an oil change at about 80,000 miles. Below that was an oil change sticker from a service station that said 2000 plus miles and looked like it was dated in 1989.

Was going to take a picture of the one from the dealership, but forgot until it got dark. Will take one tomorrow. Afraid if I use a flash for a close up, it will wash out the picture. Plus, the writing is faded on the stickers.

My father worked as a service manager for James F. Waters ("the largest DeSoto, Plymouth dealership in the world"). It was on Van Ness in San Francisco.

I was at the Pomona swap just walking around and I found a guy selling old license plate frames. He had one tucked away in a box from (you guessed it) James F. Waters - San Francisco.

I tried not to seem too anxious - I think I got it for $10 - probably would have gone a lot higher.

Those tags can be good history info. I'd leave them, too, and also take

pics. I've been looking for a metal license plate "topper" for a defunct

dealership in Joplin, "Jardon- Brelsford" Chrysler, Plymouth. Have run

across only one..... problem is it's in the trunk of a very nice 1955 Plymouth

with only 13,000 miles. And the owner doesn't want to part with it.
