I am in my reassembly and the cork sits 1 - 2 inches outside the compression sleeve. I can't find a way to move it to align with the sleeve. grey beard Posted August 12, 2008 Report Share Posted August 12, 2008 Jim, There's no cork on emergency brakes at all. What you see is the lining coming off of the brake band. Only way to resolve the issue is to pull the bgand off - not a hard job - and have it re-riveted back onto the band. . . .
