Adjustment for cork emergency brake pad?

Is there a way to adjust the cork brake pad. I am in my reassembly and the cork sits 1 - 2 inches outside the compression sleeve. I can't find a way to move it to align with the sleeve.

Jim,

There's no cork on emergency brakes at all. What you see is the lining coming off of the brake band. Only way to resolve the issue is to pull the bgand off - not a hard job - and have it re-riveted back onto the band.

. . . Unless someone installed an oversized lining on your band and that is what's sticking out. Better check that out too . . .
