I know we all complain about foreign parts, but this one ain't from China, and it's origins has me beat. I bought a "reproduction" radiator for my 51 Ford, and after installing it I found out that not only was the bottom outlet wrong, but the 51 Ford radiator cap was no where close to fitting. So i go into my shop and rummage around in a small box full of radiator caps I pulled from cars I stripped, and dig out a couple that look like they will fit. Go back out to the car,and sure enough one of them fit perfectly. So I take one of the ones identical to the one that fits, and wire-wheeled the rust away to get the numbers so I could order a new one to go with my new radiator. Didn't bother to turn a light on even though it was getting dark because I could see good enough to remove the rust, and didn't even try to read it until I got back in the house. This is what I discovered. For some odd reason I seem think it is Turkish. I have no idea what I took it off of,but it was something made prior to the 1970's and it was definitely an American car or truck. It PROBABLY says "Remove Slowly" in the language native to wherever it was made, but I would like to know for sure. Anyone have any idea what language it is,what it says,or what kind of car or truck I may have pulled it from? I live close to Norfolk,Va,so there is a chance that whatever it was once belonged to a sailor or airman that brought it back to Norfolk when he returned. Sorry for the blurred photo.
