    Original 217.

    Bored .60 over. 250 crank,connecting rods. Lumpy cam. Speed goodies. Best guess...probably pushes out like a 254 or better. Yes those are 2 two brls.
  4. A complete rebuild of the Motor and drive train. Same three on the tree with the over drive on a toggle switch. 67'-68' Dart rear end with 390 gears.
  5. I'm looking for info on anyone who sells replacement rubber trim-componants. The ones that go around the inner doors, the trunk, the cowl vent. Things like this. I'm re-painting my car and all of the rubber is very bad and needs replaced. I promise to put pics. up. That's why I haven't been on here lately. Been a long build. Thanks in advance.
  6. I have a 218 Small block that is going to be bored 60 over. I'm looking for a 230 crankshaft, rods and a flywheel. The motor is the original from my 52' Plymouth Cranbrook. It's a 2 door. Thanks.
  7. On my way down to the garage. Looking for info on putting in a new clutch. Any info on Complete clutch kits. I'm looking to put in a 10" clutch for a quicker grab. Pros/Cons. Info? The clutch was worn down to the studs when pulled out. Flywheel looked good. My friend that is helping with the build and teaching me, mentioned about going with the 10". Thanks.
  8. Sorry I haven't been here in a while. Been working hard on the Plymouth. I have a few questions. I know there has been threads on here about front brake conversions to disc. Can I get some info on the deal. Best course of attack and all that was used. That and I'm looking for a radio. The factory type. Preferably one that does not work. The car is a '52 Plymouth Cranbrook 2 door. So far the front has been pulled off and the motor and trans. are out and the motor has been stripped down to the block. Were cleaning the motor and porting it now and then it's off to the mechine shop to be bored and all that fun stuff. She'll come back .60 over and I've been gathering all kinds of speed goodies. Does anyone know of a place that sells finned heads? I stumbled onto a Youtube vid that has a great sounding and looking finned out flat6. That's what I'm shooting for. It was one of the nicest, meaty sounding motors. Done very well. I'm jealous. It gave me a goal to shoot for. Updates to come as with the build progress. Thanks for everyones help in advance. Keep wrenchin'....Springs coming fast.

  10. I just picked up a few goodies from Stovebolt Engine company. Even though they're site looks like they deal with only Chevy...They have speed parts for flatheads and slant mills. I got an Offy duel intake with adapterplates to use 2x2 Carter/Webers, with the linkages, Knock-off Fenton style Headers. Great price for all and the guy I dealt with was not only very nice, He was very helpful and a true fountain of knowledge. Ask for Tom. Kustumcranbrook.

  12. I do have the shop manual. Picked it up at a swap meet in Springfield. Great buy. What I have found out as to the trouble thus far with the overdrive, there were three wires that are connected to the trans. itself and the covering wore off. Those wires crossed and something had to have shorted out. Not sure if it was a solenoid or a relay, let alone which one. The OD worked just fine for the first couple of months after I bought her about 9 yrs ago. One of those things where she woke up and it didn't feel like working anymore. Stopped just like turning off a light.
  13. As much as I'd like to be on here evey day...My job is a monster and time has become a precious commodity. Please forgive me if anyone sends a message and/or a responce to a thread I might have started if I don't get back to you in a timely fasion. I'm usually on here on the weekends. Just to give a bit of insite as to the adventures that is my job. I average about 60-70 hours a week. Breakdowns are an everyday thing. this passed week was a true delight. Try driving a garbage truck and have the frame crack clear through. That was a fun ride. Over 14 hours that day.
  14. I have a 1952 Plymouth cranbrook with the three on the tree and OD. The tranny works very well but the overdrive is not working. Are there any older trans. that will bolt up to the motor. I'm looking for one that has the swans neck shifter. I'm trying to stay away from the T5 route. I'm trying to keep her the same as far as things bolting right up. I may go the T5 way as a last resort. Someone had mentioned that a 37-39 Dodge or Plymouth trans. might be what I'm looking for. Will I lose anything, will I gain anything. Also, I'm looking for a complete clutch kit for the car. I've got her torn down for the re-build and might as well do the clutch too. I was told by the friend that is helping me that I can get a bigger clutch. Any input, directions and help is greatly appreciated. If I decide to keep the column shift set up, I won't lose any sleep over it. She always did shift very smooth.
  15. Thanks Mackster. Her front-end is pulled off right now and the motor is being taken down to the block to be sent out to the machine shop. By this coming spring if all goes well. She'll be running much better and smoother. I'm going to re-shoot the paint and do it the right way. It's a one of a kind blend with alot of pearl in the paint. The roof is all pearl white. Got very lucky on snagging up some new Blankets for the seats that go great with the color.

  17. New here. Found out about this site from around the web and word of mouth. I think I hit paydirt here. My name is Otto. I'm from Columbus, OH. I own a 1952 Plymouth Cranbrook. I am in the beginning stages of a total build. The car, when purchased almost 9 yrs ago. Was factory original everything. I drove her everywhere. The Overdrive went out. That made long trips a real treat. She still went, but I was worried that it would be too hard on the old motor. I've decided over this winter to do a few upgrades. The motor is being pulled out and striped down. I think it is a 218, but someone has said that it might be a 217. Any help on that one will be great. Anywho...I'm going to have it sent out to a machine shop to be bored and ported .60 over. from what I was told, this will make it run like a 230. I love the motor alot and want to keep the car for the most part the same. Just with a little punch. Not building a racecar, but just a little something under the pedal when I push it. I have found the Offy intake for duel carbs. Looking for one that can run 2x2's Not 2x1's. Any suggestion? I am also looking for the duel headers. Not the cut versions made from the orginals. I've seen pics. on here of the split headers, the sets of two with three pipes going to one dump on each side. I need help finding those PLEASE. Looking for a Cam too. One that is compatable with what I'm doing to the motor. So far I have the following. All the pistons and rings for .60 over. Brand new Painless wiring harness. Some top end gears and the complete Valve kit. I'll try to get some pics of the old girl up on my profile soon. Also...I'm needing info and a tranny. The three speed on the column is in fine working order, However, I'd like to move it to the floor. I've always been a big fan of the Swans Neck floor shift. Are there any Old Mopar tranny's that will bolt up to my motor to do this? Thaks for reading this "Book" Happy to be here and hope to meet everyone. Otto.
