  10. I need to pull the three speed out of my 49 B1, my question is can it be done without pulling the top cap from the tranny? I don't have a lift so I will be using jack stands? Thanks for any guidance

  14. Is it possible to remove the steering box column etc. without removing the floor panels? I have read a lot of posts but haven't found one that specifically says. If anyone has done one of these I would appreciate the help.
  15. Has anyone replaced the stock steering box with a new one? My is worn out has to be swapped.
  16. It is a floor shifter. What could cause it to pop out of gear? the 3 speed? Has correct fluid level.

  18. I have a 49 B1 with a three speed in the floor shift. I found a 4 speed floor shift that I would like to change out. I don't have the three speed out so I can't expect the shafts etc. The four speed has a date on the top of 1-21-48, the Id number is C-39871 on the top plate. The number on the main case is C88661. Does anyone know if this swap will work? Are the input and out put shafts the same Etc. Thanks Dave
  19. It is a couple inches before you feel any pressure.
  20. It is a floor shift. The clutch starts engaging about 1 1/2 " off the floor.
  21. Finally got my 49 B1 on the road , now its is flying out of third gear. Any suggestions?

  24. The picture is different than the wheel in my b1. One end of my big spring is open the other end has metal cap.{with hole} Does the open end sit on the horn ring hold down plate? After getting the wire through the steering tube, do you then press the locking plate into the steering wheel plate a turn it until snaps in place. I'm lost after that point? The kit I got also has a wire ring? May go into slots in bottom of horn button? Also does the steering tube have a metal cap on it to hold the steering shaft in the center of the tube. This was all apart when I got my truck so its very confusing to me?
  25. Thanks for the reply. I guess I will be changing to volt meter ,I sure don't want to see my truck go up in smoke. I found a auto meter volt mini meter that will fit into the old gauge housing with a little mod. work to the housing.
